I have two Macs. And old 20' iMac and a new MacBook Pro 13'. The iMac has Photoshop CS4 and the MacBook Pro has CS5.
I also have a PC with Windows 7 running CS4. I have noticed that after the OS 10.7 Lion upgrade, that the clone stamp tool in Photoshop behaves as though the 'align' check box is UNCHECKED no matter what the actual check box status is. It works fine on my PC, and worked fine with Snow Leopard. Has anyone noticed this behavior after they've upgraded to Lion? For most practical uses of the clone tool, it is incredibly impossible to use if it is not aligned! I have searched all over the Adobe forums, Google, etc, and have not seen this complaint from anyone else, but maybe 10.7 is just too new and no one has noticed? Maybe it's something else?
I'm in Photoshop CS6. When I use the clone tool - or the healing tool for that matter - the image 'sticks' to the cursor after I've clicked the Mac options key to select the area I want to clone from. I wish Photoshops clone tool(s) had a feature that would allow the preview image that shows. Option (Mac) / Alt (Win) + Shift + to rotate the Clone Source.
The fact that both CS4 and CS5 are exhibiting the same issue leads me to believe it is a Lion issue, but I'm prepared for Apple to tell me it is Adobe's fault. Same post on Adobe forums next, for Adobe to tell me it is Apple's fault 😉. Apple Footer.
